If you’ve ever felt like your mind is never where your feet are—this post is for you.

You’re doing all the right things: managing your home, caring for your family, working toward your goals. But you still feel distracted, pressured, and constantly thinking about what’s next.

This is one of the biggest struggles of Christian motherhood and godly ambition—wanting to serve your family and steward your gifts well, but realizing you’re rarely mentally or spiritually present in the moment right in front of you.

In this post (and in Episode 77 of the LeadHerShip Podcast — Why Ambitious Christian Moms Struggle to Be Present ), we’re going to talk about:

What it really means to be faithfully present

The #1 reason Christian women struggle to stay grounded

Biblical strategies to help you trade stress for peace

What It Means to Be Faithfully Present

Being faithfully present means showing up fully—mind, body, and spirit—to the people and priorities God has entrusted to you right now, without being ruled by fear, distraction, or striving.

It’s not about doing less or “slowing down.” It’s about engaging with intention.

You give your time, energy, and attention to the moment, task, or person in front of you because you trust God’s timing and provision.

Faithful presence is living like time is short—but God’s grace is not.

That sounds simple in theory, but it’s hard to practice when you’re ambitious, driven, and carrying responsibility for your home, your work, and your calling. So let’s talk about the first barrier that keeps us from being fully present: stress.

1. Stress: Living in Tomorrow Instead of Today

Most of your stress isn’t from what’s happening right now. It’s from worrying about what might happen next.

Stress is your brain trying to solve a problem that hasn’t even happened yet.

You think:

My child is falling behind—what does that mean for their future?

My business is slowing down—what does that mean for me?

My marriage feels off—what will this look like a year from now?

Stress is future-focused fear. It’s impossible to be mentally and emotionally present when your thoughts are always in tomorrow.

But Scripture gives us a better way.

The Power of Vision (and Its Trap)

If you’re an ambitious Christian woman, you likely have a strong vision for your life—and that’s good.

“Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint.” — Proverbs 29:18

Vision gives direction and purpose. It shapes your priorities and keeps you disciplined. But it can also become a source of pressure if it starts to dominate your thoughts.

Vision should give direction, not domination. It’s meant to inspire your habits, not steal your presence.

When you fixate on making it happen now, you drift back into stress and striving. You start hustling instead of trusting.

The key is learning to hold vision in one hand and peaceful obedience in the other.

When Your Worth Feels Tied to Your Work

Here’s where stress deepens: when your identity becomes attached to your outcome.

If you secretly believe your worth depends on how productive or successful you are, then every setback feels like a threat.

You’re not working for your worth—you’re working from it.

As daughters of God, our identity is settled. Our performance doesn’t define us—His grace does. When that truth sinks in, you can release the fear of failing and show up with peace.

2. God Works Through Systems (Not Striving)

When you understand that God works through means, you stop living like everything depends on you.

He doesn’t just ordain what will happen—He ordains how it happens. Through rhythm. Process. Faithful repetition.

Rain is the means He uses to grow crops.

Work is the means He uses to provide for our families.

Prayer and Scripture are the means He uses to shape our hearts.

Your habits and systems are spiritual when they’re rooted in obedience.

They’re how God takes your daily diligence and turns it into fruit. The same God who ordains the harvest also ordains the planting.

When you organize your life—your home, your business, your health—around rhythms of obedience, you find peace in the process.

The Proverbs 31 Woman: Faithful, Not Frantic

The Proverbs 31 woman is one of the best pictures we have of a faithfully present life.

She wasn’t frantic; she was fruitful.

“She is not afraid of snow for her household…” — Proverbs 31:21

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25

She wasn’t ruled by fear of the future. She trusted the Lord’s timing, worked her systems faithfully, and looked well to the ways of her household.

That’s what godly ambition looks like—faithful diligence anchored in trust.

You don’t have to panic your way to productivity. You can work your systems peacefully with your eyes fixed on Jesus.

3. Balancing Vision with Presence

Your future is the sum of your todays.

Start with the end in mind, then build habits that align with it. Whether it’s your marriage, motherhood, health, finances, or Christian business, the results you want come from your daily faithfulness.

When you stop fixating on the harvest and start tending the field in front of you, peace replaces pressure.

That’s what it means to be faithfully present.

Faithful presence isn’t passive. It’s not “slow down,” but it’s not “hustle harder” either. It’s showing up diligently and trusting God with the results.

How to Know You’re Living Presently

You know you’re present when you feel your emotions. You’re not escaping, numbing, or avoiding them. You’re aware of what you feel—and you bring it to God.

Here’s what that looks like for me:

I notice my child’s laughter and it brings joy.

I see the sunrise and feel awe for God’s creativity.

I feel gratitude for something simple—a warm mug or clean kitchen.

Here’s how I practice presence daily:

Pray alone without my phone so I can process emotions with God.

Walk without distractions, noticing beauty in my neighborhood.

Journal simply—naming what I’m thinking, feeling, and surrendering.

Engage my senses: What do I see, hear, smell, taste, and feel?

Presence happens when you fully inhabit the moment God has placed you in.

Reflection + Application

Take a moment to pause and reflect:

Where in your life do you feel the most pressure right now?

Is it from the task—or fear of what might happen if you fail?

What’s one area where your habits or systems are out of alignment with the future you say you want?

Don’t overthink it—clarity, not condemnation.

In your home:

Do you have rhythms that support peace?

Are you managing time intentionally—or reacting to whatever’s loudest?

(Need help? My Time Blocker and Complete Chore System are tools that bring order and peace back into your days.)

In your work or business:

Do you have repeatable systems that allow you to rest?

What’s one process you could create that saves time and helps you be consistent?

In your spiritual life:

Are you giving God quiet space each day for prayer and reflection?

What’s one 10-minute pocket of margin you can reclaim this week?

A Final Word of Encouragement

If you’re feeling scattered, stressed, or stretched thin—you’re not alone.

You can live faithfully present, not perfectly, but peacefully.

Ask the Lord to meet you where you are. Strengthen the systems that support your peace. And trust that the same God who called you to this life—your marriage, your motherhood, your ministry, or your business— will sustain you in it.

You don’t have to control the future. Just tend to what He’s placed in front of you today.

Top Books That Shaped My Biblical Perspective About Money

The exact books that reshaped how I think about money, work, wealth, generosity, and stewardship {from a biblical perspective} with real-life application.

I’m Brittney Howard - wife, mom of six, and business mentor for Christian women who want to provide for their families without sacrificing presence at home. Years ago, I was studying the Proverbs 31 woman and was struck by how industrious she was - how she used her wisdom and business savvy to bless her family financially. I wanted to be like that.

The problem? I had zero business experience, no career background, and as an introvert living in a tiny country town, I barely knew anyone. I tried and failed at several things before discovering network marketing - a business model that gave me products I believed in, skills I could learn, and mentors to guide me. Over time, I built not only a thriving business but also the confidence and leadership to help other women do the same. Now I mentor ambitious Christian moms to build six-figure network marketing businesses on biblical principles, without manipulation, without hustle, and without sacrificing their faith or family.

Here’s what I believe:
• The world says strive → God says surrender.
• The world says hurry → God says walk faithfully.
• The world says achieve → God says be fruitful.
• The world says hustle harder → God says be diligent.

I believe profit is simply the reward for serving people well. I believe diligence honors God more than hustle. And I believe that when we build our businesses faithfully, the fruit of it impacts generations.
